Perfect Steam on Electrolux EFLW front-load washers uses a dedicated water-heating element + steam-injection nozzle at the top of the drum. When steam fails while other wash modes still work: (1) Steam heating element, 8-12 year service item; ohm-check 20-30 ohms healthy; $180–$280 replacement. (2) Steam valve solenoid, controls water admission to the steam generator; $120–$180. (3) High-limit thermostat cutout, if it's tripped due to scale buildup, clearing the scale + resetting resolves it without parts.
