Same corporate parent (Haier Group), distinct US product lines, this is the single most important Haier fact to know for service. Haier Group acquired GE Appliances in 2016 and both brands continue operating with separate product lineups, separate US marketing, and separate service channels. GE Appliances (Louisville KY) continues making full-size mainstream US appliances, 30" ranges, 30-36" refrigerators, full-size laundry, under the GE / GE Profile / GE Café / GE Monogram brand structure. Haier (as a US-sold brand) focuses compact 24" appliances for urban apartments, 24" built-in ovens, 24" ranges, 24" refrigerators, 24" dishwashers, compact laundry. Haier's US product strategy targets kitchen footprints that don't accommodate full-size 30" US appliances. 24" compact built-in ovens fit DTLA loft kitchens, WeHo high-rise condos, Koreatown 1930s apartment buildings, Hollywood hills-side small kitchens, Beverly Hills guest-house kitchens, and Santa Monica beach-town bungalows where the standard 30" US appliance cutout was never built into the cabinetry. Haier fills the same market slot Magic Chef does in multi-family rental, compact-fit specialization, but with slightly higher-tier positioning, Wi-Fi connectivity (Haier Smart Home app), and better finishes. Haier-branded US appliances use the Haier Smart Home app for Wi-Fi pairing + control, a distinct app ecosystem from GE Appliances' SmartHQ app despite shared Haier Group ownership. Don't try to pair a Haier oven with SmartHQ; it won't find the device. Don't try to pair a GE oven with Haier Smart Home; same issue. In the US market, Haier's product strategy centers on 24" compact. Haier sells full-size appliances in Chinese + global markets but the US product line focuses on the compact-kitchen segment. Exceptions: Haier occasionally sells 30" appliances in the US market under specific SKU launches (some refrigerator formats, occasional ranges), but 24" compact is the brand's positioning anchor and where the LA service concentration lives. If you have what you think is a 30" Haier, verify the model number, you may have a GE Appliances product (GE is the full-size US line; both brands under same Haier Group parent but separate product lineups). Parts availability is decent on current + recent Haier units (2016+, post-GE-acquisition era when Haier Group invested in US distribution expansion). Haier Group operates US parts distribution that expanded post-2016 with sibling-brand access to GE Appliances + Fisher & Paykel + Casarte + AQUA logistics. Common Haier oven parts (bake elements, thermal sensors, door hinges, gas igniters on gas models) typically arrive 3-5 days to LA authorized service. Specialty items (Wi-Fi modules, specific generation control boards, compact-format glass + door assembly) may run 5-10 day lead. Pre-2016 Haier units (imported before US distribution expansion) sometimes require aftermarket cross-reference, parts availability varies by specific generation.
