Twin Eagles service
Why Twin Eagles is engineered differently than Lynx and Fire Magic.
Twin Eagles is manufactured in Camarillo, California, now part of the Dometic outdoor lifestyle group. The brand has been a fixture in premium SoCal outdoor kitchens for two decades. The signature U-burner design, the optional sear zone burner architecture, and the dual ignition system (glow plug on older series, hot surface igniter on newer) are what distinguish Twin Eagles from Lynx and Fire Magic. Different engineering philosophy, different parts catalog, different repair patterns.
Our techs service the entire Twin Eagles lineup: TEBQ-series 30 inch through 54 inch (B-series and C-series variants), Eagle One TE1BQ flagship, side burners (TESB131-C, TESB132-C, TESB132F-C), Power Burners (TEPB24-C, TEPB24HG-C), Teppanyaki Griddle (TETG30-C). The grill you bought in 2014 still has parts available. Twin Eagles maintains long parts continuity, even more so now under Dometic's parts logistics network.
BHGS #A49573. Same-day across LA, Orange County, Ventura. Twin Eagles parts on the van for the most common failures.
Series and architecture
Twin Eagles series and what fails on each.
Twin Eagles uses suffix-coded model numbering. B and C designate vintage; G and R designate grill-only versus rotisserie-equipped; RS adds the optional Sear Zone Burner. We identify by serial number first, not just model badge.
TEBQ Series (standard built-in, 30 / 36 / 42 / 54 inch)
The core Twin Eagles built-in line. B-series (older variant): TEBQ30R-B, TEBQ36R-B, TEBQ42R-B, TEBQ54RS-B. C-series (current production): TEBQ30R-C, TEBQ36R-C, TEBQ42R-C, TEBQ54R-C. G vs R in the model code: G is grill-only, R includes a rotisserie burner. RS means the grill includes the optional Sear Zone Burner. The TEBQ30G-B and TEBQ30G-C share most parts but use different ignition modules.
Eagle One TE1BQ flagship variants (current)
Newer Eagle-naming current flagship: TE1BQ36RSN, TE1BQ42RSL, TE1BQ54RSN, TE1BQ54RSL. Suffix N indicates natural gas, L indicates liquid propane. Hot surface ignition standard. Same U-burner architecture as TEBQ but with refined controls.
U-Burner architecture (signature Twin Eagles design)
Twin Eagles uses U-shaped stainless steel main burners (OEM S13350, replacement S13350-R, runs $213+ per zone). The U-burner pattern distributes heat differently than Lynx's cast brass straight burners or Fire Magic's tubular burners. The result: more even cooking surface temperature, but different repair characteristics.
Common U-burner failures: pinhole at year 8 to 12 (stainless develops pinholes from coastal salt air, replace per zone before manifold damage); crossover tube failure (flame propagation between burners stops working, flash tube replacement using BCPS21750Y for U-burners specifically); burner port carbon buildup (needs cleaning every 3 to 4 years on heavy-use grills, no parts required but improves performance).
Optional Sear Zone Burner
Separate from U-burners. High-BTU sear configuration. Uses its own flash tube (BCPS21765Y, OEM, fits B-series and C-series, both glow plug and hot surface igniter variants). Sear burners cycle harder than main burners, fail at 5 to 8 years on heavy-use grills. Critical: BCPS21750Y for U-burners and BCPS21765Y for sear zone are not interchangeable. They look similar but the dimensions and orifice geometry differ. Mixing them up causes ignition failures and incomplete combustion.
Ignition System (glow plug and hot surface igniter)
Twin Eagles has used both glow plug and hot surface igniter (HSI) systems across various series. Both B-series and C-series have glow plug and HSI variants. Igniter electrode parts catalog: S16156Y, S16157Y, S16158, S16159, S16108. Different parts for different series, so we identify by serial number first. Common ignition failures: igniter electrode itself (5 to 7 years), wire harness corrosion at the connector (coastal installs at 4 to 6 years), ignition module degradation (8 to 10 years).
Side Burners, Power Burners, Teppanyaki Griddle
Side burners (TESB131-C, TESB132-C, TESB132F-C): single and double configurations. Common failure is gas valve seizure after seasonal inactivity, resolved by disassembly, cleaning, and lubrication. Igniter electrode failure at 6 to 8 years.
Power Burners (TEPB24-C, TEPB24HG-C): high-BTU dedicated side burners for wok cooking and large pot heating. Failures concentrate at the orifice (HG = High-Gas variant has different orifice spec) and the regulator. Power Burner orifice cleaning is the most common Twin Eagles non-grill repair we make.
Teppanyaki Griddle (TETG30-C): 30 inch outdoor teppanyaki griddle. Element heating. Common failure: thermostat drift at 5 to 7 years (won't hold setpoint accurately). Replacement.
Common scenarios
Top Twin Eagles repairs in our 5-county territory.
In rough order of frequency on Twin Eagles service calls:
- Igniter electrode failure. Single zone won't light, others working. Test continuity, replace electrode (S16156Y, S16157Y, or S16158 depending on series). $200 to $340 part plus labor.
- U-burner pinhole at coastal install. Visible pinhole in the U-burner tube. Replace burner (S13350-R, $213+ part) before manifold damage. Per-zone replacement.
- Flash tube failure (crossover lost). Flame doesn't propagate to adjacent zones. Replace flash tube. BCPS21750Y for U-burners, BCPS21765Y for sear zone. $80 to $140 part each.
- Sear zone burner replacement. High-cycle sear unit failed at 5 to 8 years. Replacement.
- Wire harness connector corrosion. Coastal moisture intrusion. Clean or replace the harness segment. $180 to $340.
- Power Burner orifice clogging. Cooking spillover into the orifice on TEPB24 units. Cleaning plus sometimes orifice replacement.
- Side Burner valve seizure. Seasonal inactivity causes valve sticking. Disassemble plus lubricate, occasionally requires valve replacement.
- Rotisserie motor seizure (R-suffix grills). 10 to 15 year typical lifespan. Replacement.
- Cooking grid replacement. Twin Eagles cooking grid sets, stainless and porcelain options.
- Briquette tray replacement. At 8 to 10 years, stainless briquette trays develop rust spots requiring replacement.
Real repairs
Composite stories from the route.
Five Twin Eagles jobs from the past 90 days. Models, symptoms, diagnosis, parts, time, total. Names omitted; the technical scenarios are typical of what we see weekly.
Malibu, Twin Eagles TEBQ54RS-B (2016 install)
Center burner not lighting. Tested glow rod ignition: failed. While checking other zones, found stainless pinhole in the adjacent U-burner (caught early, coastal salt corrosion at 7 years). Replaced glow rod electrode plus the U-burner with the pinhole (S13350-R). Avoided manifold burnout. Total: $120 plus $370 parts plus 1.5 hours = $640.
Newport Beach, Twin Eagles TEBQ42R-C (2019 install)
Sear zone not lighting, main grill working. Diagnosed: sear zone flash tube (BCPS21765Y) corroded through at coastal install (4 years from saltwater exposure). Replaced flash tube. Tested sear ignition cycle. Working. Total: $120 plus $115 part plus 30 minutes = $295.
Calabasas, Twin Eagles TE1BQ54RSL (2021 install)
Multi-zone ignition issue. Diagnosed: wire harness corrosion at the main control panel connector. Cleaned connector, replaced affected wire segment. Tested all zones. Total: $120 plus $90 part plus 1 hour = $310.
Beverly Hills, Twin Eagles TEPB24HG-C Power Burner (2018 install)
Won't ignite. Orifice clogged with cooking spillover from prep work. Cleaned orifice, tested ignition cycle. No parts needed. Total: $120 diagnostic plus 30 minutes labor. Customer's previous shop had quoted "needs new burner unit, $1,400."
Pacific Palisades, Twin Eagles TEBQ36R-B (2014 install)
Multiple issues at 12 years: ignition module failing, two U-burner pinholes, briquette tray rusted. Did all three on one visit. Total: $120 plus $850 parts plus 3 hours = $1,250. Owner happy because the alternative (replacement grill) was $7,500+ installed.
Scope
What we do for Twin Eagles, and what we don't.
We service:
- All TEBQ-series grills (30, 36, 42, 54 inch, B-series and C-series variants)
- TE1BQ Eagle One flagship variants (newer naming)
- Twin Eagles side burners (TESB131-C, TESB132-C, TESB132F-C)
- Power Burners (TEPB24-C, TEPB24HG-C)
- Teppanyaki Griddle (TETG30-C)
- All optional Sear Zone Burner configurations
- Rotisserie kits and replacement motors
- All Twin Eagles ignition variants (glow plug and hot surface igniter)
We don't do: new Twin Eagles grill installation (warranty installs go through the authorized Dometic / Twin Eagles dealer network); custom Twin Eagles cabinetry modification (metal fabricator trade, not appliance repair); Twin Eagles outdoor heater products (separate Dometic catalog handled by a different service track).
If your grill is under Twin Eagles warranty (now administered through Dometic, typical lifetime warranty on stainless burners, varies on other components), we recommend going through the dealer network first. We can assess and tell you if the failure is warranty-eligible before any out-of-pocket repair.

Why us for Twin Eagles
What separates our Twin Eagles service from general grill repair.
- U-burner expertise. Twin Eagles' signature design. We know which zones are hardest hit by coastal salt, which crossover patterns predict failure, and which inspection points catch pinholes early.
- Series-aware diagnosis. B-series vs C-series vs newer TE1BQ variants have different parts. We identify by serial number first.
- Flash tube differentiation. BCPS21750Y for U-burners, BCPS21765Y for sear zone. Easy for the wrong shop to mix up. We don't, and we carry both on the van.
- Dual ignition awareness. Twin Eagles has used both glow plug and hot surface igniter across various series. Current diagnosis depends on which architecture you have.
- OEM parts only via Dometic distribution. No aftermarket. The S13350-R U-burner replacement comes from authorized supply through the Dometic logistics network.
- Coastal salt expertise. Malibu, Newport Beach, Pacific Palisades. Coastal failure patterns specific to Twin Eagles' stainless construction are about 35% of our brand work.
- BHGS #A49573 plus BBB A+. Verifiable with the state and the bureau. EPA 608 Universal certified (#1346255700410) for outdoor refrigerated drawer integration where applicable.
- Same-day across LA, Orange County, Ventura. Next-day for Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula.
FAQ
Twin Eagles grill repair questions.
Twin Eagles is now Dometic. Does that change how I get warranty service?
Twin Eagles became part of Dometic's outdoor lifestyle group in recent years. Production is still in Camarillo, California. For warranty service you go through Dometic-authorized Twin Eagles dealers, same as before but under the Dometic corporate umbrella. We can document warranty-eligible repairs and help you process claims through the dealer network.
What's the difference between B-series and C-series TEBQ grills?
B-series and C-series are vintage designations. C-series is current production, B-series is the previous generation. They share many parts, but ignition modules and some wire harness segments are different. We identify by serial number, not just model number, before ordering parts. The TEBQ30R-B is not the same parts catalog as the TEBQ30R-C even though the model number is similar.
My Twin Eagles U-burner has a pinhole. Can I still use the grill?
The grill will still ignite, but you should replace the U-burner soon. Pinhole burners burn unevenly, can damage the manifold (the gas distribution piece), or distort the firebox. Cost of waiting: $213 for an OEM S13350-R burner replacement vs $1,400+ in manifold repair if the pinhole spreads to adjacent zones. Especially urgent on coastal grills (Malibu, Newport Beach, Pacific Palisades) where salt accelerates the failure.
The flash tubes look the same. Does it matter which I use?
Yes, and this is a common shop mistake. BCPS21750Y is for U-burners (the main burner zones). BCPS21765Y is for the optional Sear Zone Burner only. They look similar but the dimensions and orifice geometry differ. Mixing them up causes ignition failures, incomplete combustion, and sometimes flame creep. We carry both on the van and install the correct one first time.
How long do Twin Eagles grills last?
With proper repair and maintenance, 18 to 25 years is normal for the TEBQ premium line. Stainless U-burners last 10 to 15+ years on inland installs, 7 to 12 years on coastal exposure. The grill outlasts most outdoor kitchens. Twin Eagles parts continuity has actually improved under Dometic's parts logistics network.
Do you service older Twin Eagles grills (pre-2014)?
Yes. Older Twin Eagles models still have parts availability through Dometic's distribution. Some legacy parts (older glow plug variants, certain B-series wire harnesses) may take 5 to 10 days to source. We diagnose, quote, and order before scheduling the repair so you're not stuck with an open work order.
What's your warranty on Twin Eagles repairs?
Ninety days SDAR labor and parts warranty on the work we perform. Twin Eagles component lifetime warranty (where applicable through Dometic, typical on stainless burners) is separate, and we help process those claims through the dealer network when they apply. BHGS #A49573 and BBB A+ accredited.
