Gas stove burner ignition failure is the most common appliance repair call we receive across Los Angeles. A burner that clicks endlessly without lighting, or stopped igniting after a boilover, is almost always an igniter or spark electrode issue — not a gas valve or control board failure. Flat-rate pricing that assumes a worst-case scenario costs you more than the actual repair requires.
We diagnose first. The $89 fee covers the full diagnosis. After a boilover, the igniter module is often just wet — cleaning and drying resolves it with no replacement part at all. We check all burners while on site and test the oven cavity (if a range-style stove) before leaving. Gas stove calls include supply pressure verification and post-repair leak check at no extra charge.
Apartment stoves in LA — especially older GE, Whirlpool, and Hotpoint freestanding units common in Koreatown, Silver Lake, and Mid-Wilshire rentals — are a significant portion of our stove calls. These are almost always worth repairing. A burner igniter replacement on an older unit costs far less than a landlord replacing the whole stove.
