Napoleon service
Napoleon's infrared burners and JETFIRE ignition are what we see fail.
When a Napoleon grill fails at an LA home, our techs at Same Day Appliance Repair trace it to a few patterns: a JETFIRE ignition electrode out on one burner, the infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burner or the infrared rear burner failing while the main grill still cooks, a salt-corroded tube burner on a coastal install, or a worn regulator dropping flame across the zones. These are the Prestige PRO built-ins in BBQ islands and the Prestige and Rogue carts on patios across the five counties, and coastal salt sets the corrosion clock. $89 outdoor diagnostic, waived with repair. BHGS #A49573, EPA 608 Universal certified (#1346255700410), BBB Accredited.
Napoleon is a Canadian manufacturer, Wolf Steel Ltd, based in Barrie, Ontario. In our SoCal territory Napoleon lands as a mid-premium grill: the built-in Prestige PRO 500 and 665 in outdoor kitchens, and the freestanding Prestige and Rogue carts on patios where the owner wanted infrared searing and a rotisserie without the ultra-premium price of a Lynx or Twin Eagles. That positioning shapes our advice. A built-in Prestige PRO is worth repairing for almost any single failure, while on an older low-cost Rogue cart we give you the honest repair-versus-replace math.
Our techs service the Napoleon gas lineup: the Prestige series, the Prestige PRO 500 and 665 (freestanding RSIB models and built-in RB models), and the Rogue series. We handle JETFIRE ignition, the infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burner, the infrared rear rotisserie burner, WAVE cooking grids, standard tube burners, and regulators, in natural gas and liquid propane.

Series and architecture
Napoleon series and what fails on each.
Napoleon grills share a common feature set (JETFIRE ignition, infrared burner options, WAVE grids) across three tiers. We identify by the full model before ordering, because the built-in and freestanding versions of the same series can take different parts.
Prestige PRO 500 and 665 (flagship)
The top of Napoleon's grill line. The freestanding models carry RSIB in the name (PRO500RSIBPSS-3, PRO665RSIBPSS-3), and the built-in island versions carry RB (BIPRO500RBSS-3, BIPRO665RBNSS-3). The 500 is a 6-burner and the 665 an 8-burner. Both include the infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burner and an infrared rear burner for the rotisserie. Common failures concentrate at the two infrared burners and the JETFIRE electrodes.
Prestige series (classic)
The standard Prestige line below the PRO. Same JETFIRE ignition and WAVE cooking grids, often with the infrared rear burner. Failures we see are ignition electrodes, tube burner corrosion on coastal installs, and rear-burner wear on grills used heavily for rotisserie cooking.
Rogue series
Napoleon's value cart line (Rogue 425, 525, 625). Simpler feature set, JETFIRE ignition, some with an infrared side or rear burner. These are freestanding carts, closer to consumer-grade than the built-ins, so the honest repair-versus-replace conversation matters more here on older units.
JETFIRE ignition
Napoleon's JETFIRE system lights each burner individually. A single dead burner is usually its electrode; a whole-grill no-light is more often the battery or a wiring fault. Inexpensive parts, quick swap, high misdiagnosis rate when a shop replaces burners instead of the electrode.
Infrared burners, WAVE grids, rotisserie
SIZZLE ZONE infrared side burner: high-heat searing station, runs hotter than the main burners and fails earlier. Infrared rear burner: behind the rotisserie, similar high-cycle wear. WAVE cooking grids: stainless or cast iron, corrode on coastal installs, replaced as a set. Rotisserie motor: standard replacement at end of life.
Common scenarios
Top Napoleon repairs in our 5-county territory.
Ranked by how often our techs at Same Day Appliance Repair see them, most common first.
- JETFIRE electrode failure. Single burner won't light, others working. Test and replace the electrode for that zone.
- Infrared burner failure (SIZZLE ZONE or rear). Sear zone or rear burner dead, main grill fine. Diagnose the infrared element and its ignition, then replace.
- Whole-grill no-light. Dead battery or wiring fault at the JETFIRE module. Inexpensive fix.
- Coastal tube burner corrosion. Salt-driven pinhole on Malibu and Newport Beach installs. Per-zone replacement before manifold damage.
- Regulator drop. Low flame across all zones on LP setups. Regulator check and replacement.
- WAVE cooking grid corrosion. Grids rust through on coastal grills. Replacement set.
- Rotisserie motor. Seizure at end of life on rotisserie-equipped grills. Replacement.
- Valve or knob issue. Sticking valve after seasonal inactivity. Clean, lubricate, occasionally replace.
Real repairs
Composite stories from the route.
Four Napoleon jobs typical of the past 90 days. Models, symptoms, diagnosis, time, total. Names omitted; the scenarios are what we see weekly.
Irvine, Napoleon BIPRO665RB built-in (2019 install)
Infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burner would not light, main grill fine. Diagnosis: infrared element failed plus a fouled orifice. Replaced the side burner and cleared the orifice, tested the sear ignition. Total: $89 plus $200 part plus 1 hour = $349.
Beverly Hills, Napoleon PRO500RSIB (2020 install)
One main burner would not light on the JETFIRE ignition, others fine. Diagnosis: worn ignition electrode on that zone; battery and other electrodes tested clean. Replaced the electrode, verified spark and light on all burners. Total: $89 plus $70 part plus 40 minutes = $214.
Newport Beach, Napoleon Prestige (2017 install)
Uneven flame and a visible pinhole in one tube burner. Coastal install, salt corrosion at 8 years. Replaced the corroded burner before the manifold was affected and inspected the adjacent zones. Total: $89 plus $150 part plus 1 hour = $299.
Pasadena, Napoleon Rogue 625 cart (2016 install)
Whole grill would not light and the rear burner was dead at 9 years. Diagnosis: dead ignition battery plus a failed infrared rear burner. Replaced the battery and the rear burner, and gave the owner the honest math since the cart was aging. Total: $89 plus $180 parts plus 1 hour = $349.
Scope
What we do for Napoleon, and what we don't.
We service:
- Prestige PRO 500 and 665 (freestanding RSIB and built-in RB)
- Prestige series grills
- Rogue series carts (425, 525, 625)
- JETFIRE ignition electrodes, batteries, and modules
- Infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burners and infrared rear burners
- Standard tube burners, WAVE cooking grids, regulators, rotisserie motors
We don't do: new grill installation (a gas-line trade); custom island or cabinetry modification (a fabrication trade); Napoleon home-heating products such as fireplaces and furnaces (a different service track). On an older low-cost Rogue cart, if a stacked repair approaches the price of a new unit, we will tell you straight.
If your Napoleon is under manufacturer warranty, we can assess the failure and tell you whether it is warranty-eligible before any out-of-pocket work.

Why us for Napoleon
What separates our Napoleon service from general grill repair.
- Infrared burner fluency. The SIZZLE ZONE side burner and the infrared rear burner fail differently than the main tube burners. We diagnose the element and its ignition separately rather than swapping a whole burner on a guess.
- JETFIRE ignition awareness. A single dead burner is usually the electrode, and a whole-grill no-light is usually the battery. We check the cheap cause first.
- Built-in vs cart honesty. A Prestige PRO built-in is worth repairing for almost any failure; on an aging Rogue cart we give you the real repair-versus-replace number.
- Coastal corrosion awareness. Malibu, Newport Beach, Pacific Palisades. Salt-driven burner and electrode failure is common, and we carry the parts on those routes.
- Widely available parts. Napoleon electrodes, burners, and WAVE grids are inexpensive and fast to source, so most repairs finish quickly.
- BHGS #A49573 plus EPA 608 Universal. Verifiable with the state and the bureau.
- Same-day across LA, Orange County, Ventura. Next-day for Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula.
FAQ
Napoleon grill repair questions.
What Napoleon grills do you repair in Los Angeles?
The Napoleon gas grill lineup: the Prestige series, the Prestige PRO 500 and 665 (freestanding and built-in configurations), and the Rogue series. Our techs at Same Day Appliance Repair service the JETFIRE ignition system, the infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burner, the infrared rear burner for the rotisserie, the WAVE cooking grids, and the standard tube burners across all five SoCal counties. Both natural gas and liquid propane.
My Napoleon won't light with the JETFIRE ignition. What's wrong?
Napoleon uses a JETFIRE electronic ignition that lights each burner individually. When one burner won't light, the usual cause is a worn or fouled ignition electrode on that burner, or a dead battery on the units that use one. When nothing lights at all, it is more often the battery or a wiring fault at the module. Our techs test the electrode, the battery, and the gas flow in sequence rather than guessing, and these are inexpensive parts.
The infrared side or rear burner on my Napoleon stopped working. Is that a normal burner?
No. Napoleon's infrared SIZZLE ZONE side burner and the infrared rear burner (behind the rotisserie) run hotter and cycle harder than the standard tube burners, so they wear differently and fail earlier. When a Napoleon sear zone or rear burner quits while the main grill works, we diagnose the infrared element and the ignition feeding it separately. It is a different part and a different repair than a main tube burner.
Are Napoleon parts easy to get, and is repair worth it?
Yes on both. Napoleon is a mid-premium brand with widely available parts, so electrodes, burners, igniters, and WAVE cooking grids are inexpensive and we often source them fast. A built-in Prestige PRO is a real investment worth repairing for almost any single-component failure. On an older freestanding Rogue, we give you the honest math: if a stacked repair on a low-cost cart approaches the price of a new unit, we tell you straight rather than talking you into it.
How long do Napoleon grills last in Los Angeles?
With repair and maintenance, a built-in Prestige PRO gives 12 to 18 years, and the freestanding Prestige and Rogue carts run a bit less. Salt air is the limiter on the coast, in Malibu, Newport Beach, and Pacific Palisades the tube burners and electrodes corrode faster than they do inland. Replacing a corroded burner at the first sign keeps the manifold from taking damage downstream.
My Napoleon is built into an island. Does that change the repair?
Access changes, the diagnosis does not. Our techs work the built-in Prestige PRO 500 and 665 from the front of a BBQ island, swapping burners, electrodes, and the infrared burners without pulling the whole grill out of the surround. On LP setups we confirm the regulator and gas line before re-firing each zone. $89 outdoor diagnostic, waived with repair.
What's your warranty on Napoleon repairs?
Ninety days SDAR parts-and-labor warranty on the work we perform. Napoleon carries strong manufacturer coverage on many grill components, so if the failure looks warranty-eligible we tell you before any out-of-pocket work and help you process the claim. BHGS #A49573, EPA 608 Universal certified, and BBB Accredited Business.
