What we do
We repair every JennAir wall oven configuration.
Standard wall ovens (JJW series, single and double cavity, convection or steam-convection). Microwave-combo wall ovens (JMW series, oven + built-in microwave in one unit, common in condo kitchens across our service area: Wilshire Corridor, Newport Beach high-rises, Long Beach towers, Marina del Rey waterfront). Speed ovens (JBS series, microwave + convection hybrid). 27-inch and 30-inch widths. Both RISE Collection (brushed stainless, commercial handles) and NOIR Collection (matte black stainless with Obsidian Interior option).
We carry the common failure parts on every truck: bake elements, broil elements, convection ring elements, RTD temperature sensors, thermal fuses, door gaskets. For control panel and Appliance Manager board failures (OEM W10821712, W11232121, W10855641) we order within 24 hours given the known failure patterns on JJW2/JJW3/JMW families.
We're not JennAir-authorized, that network dispatches in-warranty service; call 1-800-536-6247 for units under 1-year base coverage. We're post-warranty specialists: BHGS #A49573, BHGS #A49573, EPA 608 Universal certified (#1346255700410), BBB Accredited since 2022. Our average JennAir wall oven call is 3-to-12 years old, NOIR or RISE, across Sherman Oaks, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, Studio City, Calabasas, and Pasadena on the LA side; Newport Coast, Newport Beach, and Tustin in OC; Westlake Village, Hidden Hills, and Thousand Oaks in Ventura; and Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula wine-country in the IE.

Earlier JJW2 generation, 2010-2016. Included in documented F2E1 control panel failure pattern (serial numbers beginning D or F). Most units reaching 10-14 year service territory now, control panel replacements becoming routine on this generation. Still serviceable, parts availability good.
JMW / JMW3 Microwave-Combo
JMW2430 · JMW3430WS · JMW3430DP · JMW3430IM
Oven-microwave combination units, wall oven below + built-in microwave above in single installation. Common in condos and townhomes across our service area (Westside LA, Newport Beach, Long Beach, Irvine apartments) where separate microwave space isn't available. OEM control panel W10855641 on JMW2430 family. Same F2E1 defect pattern affects JMW/JMW3 families due to shared control architecture.
JJW Single Wall Ovens
JJW2430 single · JJW2830 single · JJW3430 single
Single cavity wall ovens, 27" or 30" width. Common in smaller-footprint kitchens or as supplemental oven alongside other cooking appliances. Same heating, convection, and control architecture as double oven variants (same parts, same diagnostics), just one cavity instead of two.
JBS Speed Ovens
JBS7524 · JBS7524DS · JBS-speed variants
Speed ovens, microwave + convection hybrid in single compact cavity. Cooks 2-3x faster than conventional oven with roasting browning quality. Specialty category in luxury kitchens across our service area (Westside LA, Newport Coast, Westlake Village, Rancho Cucamonga estates) where second oven space is prioritized but full-size secondary oven isn't warranted. Combined service profile: wall oven heating + microwave components (magnetron, door switches).
Legacy Wall Ovens (Pre-2012)
JJW9630AAW · JJW9627AAB · W246W · W256 · W266
Pre-2012 legacy JennAir wall ovens. Still serviceable for common failures (heating elements, door hinges, sensors). Some electronic components may have reduced parts availability on 15+ year units. Honest repair-vs-replace assessment for pre-2010 units, most repairs still make sense if the underlying oven is structurally sound.
Error code decoder
JennAir wall oven F-codes
| Code | Meaning & diagnostic |
|---|---|
| F2E1 | Button stuck / control panel short. Documented defect pattern on JJW2/JJW3/JMW/JMW3 serial D or F. 15-min reset first (15% resolve). Control panel W11232121 or W10855641 $585-$820. |
| F6E1 | Over-temp safety shutdown (upper cavity on double ovens). Appliance Manager W10821712 stuck relay $485-$680 OR RTD sensor drift $145-$215. Don't force cycles. |
| F5 | Watchdog / hardware conflict, control board clock fault. Main control or clock board replacement $385-$580. |
| F7 | Function key / touchpad fault. Random beeping, ghost button inputs. Usually ribbon cable aging or touchpad $425-$620. |
| 4d21 / 4d41 | Bake mode shutdown during cooking. Usually thermal-related: element overheating, thermal fuse about to trip, sensor drift. Full diagnostic needed. |
| Display blank | Not a code, user interface power failure. Check 5V at board (absent = main board $385-$580, present = touch panel $425-$620). |
Reset procedure: breaker off 10-15 min (electronics capacitors discharge), then restore. Clears transient codes. On JJW/JMW control panel issues related to F2E1 specifically, extended 15-min reset preferred because control capacitors hold longer.
Common failures
The eight things that break on a JennAir wall oven
1. F2E1, control panel defect (JJW/JMW families)
The #1 JennAir wall oven failure we see on 3-to-8-year-old units. Documented pattern on JJW2, JJW3, JMW, JMW3 families with serial numbers beginning D or F. Control panel components are heat and steam sensitive, and their location above the oven cavity means normal cooking heat and steam naturally rise to them. Failure accumulates over 2-5 years, symptoms progress from occasional phantom beeps to total unresponsiveness. Control panel replacement $585-$820 (OEM W11232121 standard, W10855641 for JMW combo). We advise owners: repair is valid but same failure may recur in 18-36 months given the design vulnerability, plan for this when deciding repair vs replacement on older units.
2. F6E1, over-temp safety shutdown
Safety cutoff when control detects cavity over-temperature on upper main oven (double oven models) or single cavity (single models). Primary cause (70%): Appliance Manager board (OEM W10821712) has stuck heating element relay, elements receive continuous power even when control requests off, causing runaway temperature. Replacement $485-$680. Secondary cause (30%): RTD temperature sensor drift causing control to misread cavity temp, sensor $145-$215. Don't force cycles by power cycling repeatedly with F6E1 active; each cycle with the fault accumulates damage to other electronics.
3. Heating element failure, mode-specific diagnostic
Regular bake doesn't heat but broil works: bake element failed ($245-$385). Broil doesn't work but bake does: broil element ($265-$385). Convection bake doesn't work but convection roast does: ring element ($285-$425, only in type-C convection cavities, most current JJW3 and JMW3 models have this architecture). Multimeter continuity test identifies which element at 20-50 ohms resistance; broken element reads open. All three elements replaceable from front cavity access.
4. Convection fan motor failure
Symptoms: convection modes don't circulate air properly, uneven cooking, sometimes audible grinding or rattling during convection. Motor is located at rear of oven cavity accessed from back of unit. Built-in wall oven installation means the unit often must be pulled from its opening to access, adding labor. Motor replacement $285-$425 plus removal/reinstall labor. We assess access at your specific kitchen before quoting full cost.
5. Oven temperature inaccurate, RTD drift or calibration
Oven runs 15-45°F off setpoint, baked goods don't brown properly, self-clean cycle aborts. Two causes. (1) Temperature Offset calibration uncalibrated, JennAir wall ovens have built-in calibration adjustment in Settings menu, free with any other repair or $95 standalone. (2) RTD temperature sensor drift, sensor reads wrong temp to control, $145-$215 replacement. We verify against cavity thermocouple measurement before ordering sensor.
6. Door won't close properly, gasket or hinge
Wall oven doors weigh 28-55 lb depending on single/double and glass configuration. Hinges wear over 10-15 years. Symptoms: heat escaping around perimeter, slow preheat, energy waste. Hinge pair replacement $320-$460 (both for balanced operation). Gasket often needs simultaneous replacement if compressed unevenly $195-$285. On NOIR wall ovens, outer door glass is NOIR-specific (not interchangeable with RISE), $385-$580 if damaged.
7. JMW combo microwave stops working (oven still works)
On JMW microwave-combo units, the microwave component can fail independently of the oven below. Diagnostic: door interlock switches ($95-$145 each, 2-3 switches in series for safety), magnetron tube ($285-$425, most common on 8+ year units), high-voltage diode ($65-$95), capacitor ($85-$145). Safety note: microwave service requires HV capacitor discharge before any work, this is not DIY. The oven portion continues functioning normally during microwave failure, so partial use is possible while waiting for service.
8. Self-clean cycle won't complete
Multiple possible causes. Door latch motor failed (cycle can't lock for self-clean safety), $225-$325. Thermal fuse tripped (one-time safety fuse trips if cavity exceeds self-clean max temp), $95-$155 replacement PLUS identifying why it tripped (sensor drift, stuck element). Control board self-clean program fault, firmware update sometimes resolves on 2020+ Home Connect units ($85 flat), otherwise $385-$580 board. We diagnose before ordering parts, cheap fuse may be all that's needed vs expensive board.
