Simpler mechanicals, single-speed motor, smaller drum, no permanent plumbing. HLC compact front-load: installed on permanent plumbing like a regular washer, with standard drain + inlet hose, door lock, bellows, shock absorbers. Haier compact washers (1.5-2.4 cu ft) hold about half what a full-size US washer does (4.3-5.0 cu ft), which is a real tradeoff for LA apartment dwellers to understand.
