An LG that won't heat is usually a choked vent and a blown fuse.
When an LG dryer tumbles but won't heat, start with the exhaust vent. A clogged vent makes the dryer overheat and blows its thermal fuse — the single most common LG no-heat part. After that come the heating element and the thermistor. On a gas LG, it's a weak igniter, gas-valve coils, or the flame sensor. 02 · Why an LG dryer stops heating
The causes, in the order our techs find them.
Restricted vent → blown thermal fuse (most common)
A lint-clogged filter or duct chokes the airflow, the dryer overheats, and LG's thermal fuse — a one-time safety device that doesn't reset — blows and cuts the heat. It's the number-one LG no-heat part, and it only stays fixed once the vent that blew it is cleared.
Heating element (electric models)
The element heats the air on an electric LG. When it burns open, the dryer tumbles with no heat. Tested for continuity and replaced inside the cabinet — a tech job.
Thermistor (temperature sensor)
The thermistor reports the air temperature to the control; a failing one can cut heat or, on some models, show a tE-type sensor code. It's tested against spec and replaced.
Flow Sense d80 / d90 / d95 — airflow, not a heat part

Gas models — igniter, valve coils, flame sensor
On a gas LG, no-heat usually means the burner isn't lighting: a weak igniter, failed gas-valve solenoid coils, or a bad flame sensor. The tell is an igniter that glows then goes out without the gas lighting. Gas parts are a tech job — never DIY the gas valve.
03 · What you can safely check
Clear the vent, reset the breaker.
- Clean the lint filter and the full vent. Wash the filter, clear the flexible hose behind the dryer, and confirm the exterior flap opens. This fixes most no-heat and Flow Sense calls — and removes the fire hazard.
- Reset both breaker legs (electric). Flip the 240V double breaker fully off and on. A single tripped leg tumbles without heat.
- Confirm gas supply (gas). Verify the gas is on and other gas appliances work. Don't touch the gas valve or line.
- Power-cycle a stuck warning. After cleaning the vent, unplug for a minute and restart to clear a lingering Flow Sense code.
- Watch whether it returns. Heat restored after a vent cleaning = it was airflow. Still cold on a clear vent = a failed part.
Where to stop: vent cleaning and the breaker check are safe and fix a large share of LG no-heat calls. Do not open the cabinet to test the thermal fuse, heating element, or thermistor, and never disturb the gas line or valve on a gas dryer. A no-heat that survives a full vent cleaning is the handoff point.

When the vent is verified clear and the LG still won't heat, the fault is inside: an open thermal fuse (plus the vent that blew it), a burned-out heating element, a failing thermistor, or on gas the igniter, valve coils, or flame sensor.
