Indigo NXT IY Series (Large Modular)
The flagship Manitowoc line. IY-0454A (450 lb/day air-cooled, the most popular IY size), IY-0524A (525 lb/day), IY-0606A (600 lb/day), IY-0696A (700 lb/day), IY-0906A (900 lb/day), IY-1196A (1,200 lb/day). Air-cooled (-A), water-cooled (W), remote-condensed (R). Common in chain hotels, large restaurants, and hospitals.
Common Indigo NXT IY failures:
- Scale buildup on vertical evaporator plate. Manitowoc uses a vertical evaporator architecture (different from Hoshizaki cell-and-curtain). AlphaSan antimicrobial protection slows biological growth but doesn't prevent calcium scale.
- Water inlet valve diaphragm. Year 5 to 8 typical failure window.
- Hot gas valve (Acu-Thaw harvest cycle). Harvest cycle release issues.
- Harvest sensor drift. Cycles ending too early or too late, affecting ice quality.
